Mapping Guide

We recognise the Training Quality Standard will be part of an approach to continuous quality improvement, not a substitute, and so we want to make sure that it complements your other work, rather than forcing you to duplicate it. For that reason, we have taken five leading quality assessment frameworks in use by Training Quality Standard applicants and identified how their different elements or indicators map to the different indicators of the Standard.

Technical Guidance: A.5.2 Impact employers

This Technical Note supplements the TQS Applicant Guide and focuses on Indicator Statement A.5.2. (Impact Employers). The guidance explores what the Standard is looking for in more detail, as well as offering some additional considerations which will help you evaluate what you are doing at the moment. Regardless of the stage you’re at – whether you hold Certification or are preparing to register for assessment – this guidance will help you better understand the A.5.2 Indicator Statement and consider what you do to assess your impact on customers’ business needs moving forwards.

It’s important to note that Technical Notes do not prescribe how the Indicator should be met; the Standard is non-prescriptive and every Indicator will be assessed in the context of your Strategy. If you have any comments on the guidance note, please feel free to send them through to info@trainingqualitystandard.co.uk.

TQS Guidance for CoVEs

This document contains information on subsidy eligibility and branding for those organisations who held, or currently hold, CoVE status.

TQS Mythbuster

Applying for Training Quality Standard assessment can be a challenge.  We know that many organisations thinking about applying and planning their Standard journey pick up ideas and preconceptions that aren’t always right – and so we end up with some myths in circulation.  For that reason, we’ve put together this Mythbuster, to set the record straight and clarify some of the mistaken ideas doing the rounds.  We’re also keen to hear where you’ve picked up any other myths – or even to help you to find out the truth if you think you’ve heard something wrong.  If that’s the case, please do get in touch – and the same applies if anything’s not clear about any aspects of the Standard’s workings.
