Eligibility

The TQS is a non-prescriptive framework designed to be applicable to all organisations offering training solutions to employers. However, to protect the Standard, there are a number of eligibility criteria that organisations must meet before they can be considered for assessment.

To be eligible for assessment against the Standard, your organisation must:

  • Be registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers (UKRLP); more information can be found on their website
  • Have been trading, and engaged in the provision and delivery of training and development solutions to employers,  for at least 12 months at the point of registration
  • Have a stable and sustainable financial condition. You must be able to provide supporting documentation to demonstrate this if requested
  • Declare if you have been given an Improvement Notice, or other notifications by the Health and Safety Executive, within the last two years
  • Provide two named references for employers you have worked with in the provision and delivery of training development solutions within the last two years.

There are no restrictions set in terms of the track record, or size and scope of business with employers.  However if your organisation has a very limited scale and/or history of working with employers we urge you to think carefully before applying, as it is unlikely you will have a sufficient evidence base to demonstrate performance against the Training Quality Standard's requirements.

For publicly funded providers, there are a few further basic eligibility requirements that organisations must meet. Full details of eligibility can be found in the document on this page.
