Eligibility


To protect the Training Quality Standard for Employers, there are a number of eligibility criteria that organisations must meet before they can be considered for assessment.

Is my organisation eligible for assessment under the Training Quality Standard for Employers?

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • ensure that the internal training function seeking assessment has been engaged in the provision and delivery of training and development solutions to other parts of the organisation, for at least 12 months at the point of registration
  • declare their financial condition to be stable and sustainable, and ensure they will be able to cover the costs of assessment as they become due
  • declare if they have been served with an Improvement Notice or other instrument by the Health and Safety Executive within the last two years.

Which version of the Standard is more appropriate to my organisation?

Sometimes it’s difficult for organisations to decide if they should be applying for certification against the Training Quality Standard or the Training Quality Standard for Employers. The headline differences between the two versions are laid out below:

  • The Training Quality Standard assesses an organisation’s ability to provide training that meets the needs of its external employer customers
  • The Training Quality Standard for Employers assesses an organisation’s internal training function for its ability to provide training and development solutions that meet customer needs and corporate aims and objectives
